This section describes new and changed features in IBM® Cognos® Analytics 11.1.7 FP4.

New Compute service property
The Compute service uses the new property qs.queryExecution.flintServer.managedDatasetsLimit to control the number of data sets that it keeps registered in memory.
Default format no longer required in schedules and jobs
You are no longer required to specify a default format when you set a schedule or create a job.
Support for Dremio
Cognos Analytics Dynamic Query now supports connections to Dremio via the Dremio JDBC driver. The default Dremio driver class name is com.dremio.jdbc.Driver
SingleStore data server connection
A new option, SingleStore, is available when you select Manage > Data server connections > Add data server.
Trino connection editor
A new option, Trino, is available when you create a data server connection. Trino is the rebranded name of the SQL query engine formerly known as PrestoSQL.
New driver class for Sybase ASE and ASE IQ
The default driver class name used for new SAP Sybase ASE or ASE IQ connections has changed to com.sybase.jdbc42.jdbc.
New MySQL driver class
The default driver class name used for new MySQL connections has changed to com.mysql.cj.jdbc.Driver.
Authentication using JWT with Teradata connections
You can configure a connection to Teradata using the Teradata JDBC driver so that it passes a JSON Web Token (JWT) when authenticating to the database. The URL must include the Teradata LOGMECH=JWT name-value pair. Teradata JDBC driver versions 17.10.00.14 or higher are required.
Authentication using JWT with Denodo connections
You can configure a connection to Denodo using the Denodo JDBC driver so that it passes a JSON Web Token (JWT) when authenticating to the database. The connection requires the Denodo name-value pair useOAuth2=true.
Vendor-supported driver versions tested with 11.1.7 FP4
IBM Cognos Analytics 11.1.7 FP4 supports an updated list of client driver versions.
Improved algorithm for handling MUN changes in Planning Analytics data sources
The IBM Cognos Analytics query service now uses an enhanced recovery algorithm to handle an invalid (stale) member unique name (MUN) in reports and dashboards that are based on Planning Analytics data sources.
New custom filter option in reports
When you create a custom filter in a report by manually entering values, you have now the option to ignore empty values.
Type in external email capability
A defect affecting the Type in external email capability is now fixed. Previously, a user who was denied the capability was still able to type in the email address of an external recipient. Now, a user without the Type in external email capability correctly can specify recipients only by selecting them from the namespace directory.
Sort by Type available via SampleExtensionButtonFolder
When you click the button to open a folder that you defined using the SampleExtensionButtonFolder.zip extension, you can now sort the folder items by Type. Previously, only the Name and Modified options were available in the Sort by field.
Support for Google Chrome in Event Studio
Google Chrome is now supported in Cognos Event Studio.
